Hi my name is Walter. I was brought up going to church, and was taught about Jesus, but I never applied it to my life. I felt broken, helpless and inadequate, and eventually became addicted to drugs and alcohol. I couldn’t hold down a job because of my addiction. When I came to Freedom Outreach last year I found myself learning about the things that I once heard before, but now I was immersed into it. I decided I was going to fully commit myself to Christ and apply everything that He is to my life, and it was the best decision I have ever made. Now I live with confidence and peace inside me that I’ve never had before, because I know that Jesus will never leave me and that God has a perfect plan for me. He loves me and I love Him and I can show this by being obedient to Him and continuing to walk in His will everyday. I thank God for bringing me here, because otherwise I wouldn’t have the close relationship with Him that I have today. I knew of Him before, but now I actually know Him and have a personal relationship with him. I am so grateful I have a mother that planted the seeds of the Word of God into my life when I was young, which are now growing and flourishing. When finished this program I plan to help at the center, and be the father that my daughter needs, as I continue to grow in Christ. Thank you God for your grace and patience with me, and most of all thank you for your son, Jesus Christ. One of my favorite scriptures is: Isaiah 43 :18-19 ( The Message) “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the dessert, rivers in the badlands.”
Hi, my name is Dalton. Growing up, I never went to church or was taught about Jesus. I didn’t have a father figure in my life and felt very lost. I felt abandoned and didn’t think I would ever have a father. I grew addicted to drugs and alcohol and was in and out of jail. I was sick of living this lifestyle, being homeless, in jail, not knowing how to express myself, and letting anger get the best of me. It was January, and I was in jail again… I had nowhere else to go…. that’s where I finally fell to my knees and surrendered, asking God to help me change my life…..I got chills all over my body. I applied to Freedom Outreach and was accepted into the program. The people here are loving and caring about others. I never felt so loved in my life like this. I’m learning about God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I’ve been searching for a father all this time and He was always right there. I gave my life to him fully. Now I am a loving caring person who loves a lot. I have a big heart that cares so much about things. God has changed my life and he can change yours too! My goals are to get my license, finish school, and live a good and clean life.
One of my favorite verses is: 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun!”
